Our Story

How Brachkashie has evolved...
Brachkashie has been in the family for several generations, making it a very special place for us. George's mother, Annabel was born at Knockie Lodge, on the Knockie Estate, which the Grant family owned in the 1950's. The lodge can be seen across from Loch Nan Laan, as you walk along the Forestry Commission track down towards Loch Ness.

As a young child, George and his family (seen below in the 1970's) used to holiday at Brachkashie. It was an annual holiday tradition to head to the Highlands and definitely the highlight of each year. Eventually bringing his own family and children to Brachkashie for the same Scottish holiday.
The Goldsmith's fell in love with the beauty of Brachkashie and the fun it provides. In 2010, the cottages were purchased from family members. With a lot of hard work, inside and out, and some Highland inspiration, the cottages have been transformed. Tastefully upgraded and modernised throughout, to create the very comfortable accommodation that they are today. It is a pleasure for us to be able to share this special place with guests as well as our family, who we know will appreciate the tranquillity and peace of the loch and surroundings as much as we do.
As a family, we still love to holiday at Brachkashie with our cousins and friends, whenever we can. It's our favourite place in the world and we know you'll find it special too!
We look forward to welcoming you to Brachkashie and to the true beauty of Scotland.
Best wishes,
George, Catherine and family.
